i am really liking the trial unraid so far. truenas core worked but had many issues with smb and nfs but unraid has done that flawlessly. this is the easiest and most reliable way. i also want to connect it to a monitor and my kvm to play games native. ubuntu is the os i am running on my laptop which is what will vnc or steam remote play into the windows vm. The windows vm would be faster on bare metal than in ubuntu.
